Child's Play Fundraiser

WHAT: Competition, Fun, and Games!
WHERE: Student Union Ballrooms at the University of Akron
WHEN: November 22, 2009 1PM - 10PM
WHY: To have fun and raise money for Akron Children's Hospital!
ADMISSION: $20 in advance / $25 at the door (or a game/toy donation of equal value) to participate in any and all games!

Child's Play Charity is a gamer's organization started by Penny Arcade. They help collect toy and video game donations for local children's hospitals, so that children who are forced to spend time in hospitals have something to take their mind off of their illness. Nationwide, Child's Play has raised over $5 million in donations.

This year, the University of Akron student chapter of the ACM will be hosting a huge gaming party to benefit Child's Play and Akron Children's Hospital. There will be free food, a LAN, console games, tabletop gaming, a guitar hero tournament, and much more!

Admission to the fun is only $20 in advance, or $25 at the door. We will also accept the equivalent in new or used toys or video games. Advance tickets will be available at tables in the student union during the week of November 16. Pre-registration is also available at the link on the right

This event is open to everyone, including students, non-students, hardcore gamers, casual gamers, and gaming newbies. So please invite all of your friends!
