Meeting for 2009-10-20

Meeting minutes as remembered by the secretary 5 days later, because she had a splitting headache and forgot she needed to be a secretary at this meeting.

The meeting was held outside in the amphitheater behind CAS because it was a beautiful day. Trever and Adam were playing with the robot. Making it follow walls, pestering passers-by, that sort of thing.

We had a child's play planning meeting on Monday. If you still want to help out with that, it's not too late to volunteer. We assigned leaders for each of the aspects of the event. You should read the minutes from that meeting for details.

Damien volunteered to help with set up. (At least, I think it was Damien. If not, someone remind me who it was)

ASG wants us to fund-raise so that we don't have to use all their money. So we're looking for ideas for fundraisers. A bake sale was suggested. Tech support, computer repair, and tutoring were also suggested, but we're pretty sure the university would get upset with us because they already offer all those services for free. Kat suggested an "ask a geek" table in the union, where for a donation, people can get advice about things like what laptop or digital camera to buy. Chad said we might be able to do this on the website as well (although, now that I think about it, I have no idea how we'd get money for it if it's on the website. But still a good idea).

Trever is thinking about starting a linux student group. If you're interested in that, let him know. It would be sort of like the ACM except separate, and without windows or mac users.
