Meeting for 2009-10-28

10/28/2009 16:22
America/New York

The programming team will be meeting for the competition on Fri at 4:30. Meet in the lobby of CAS. Have your bag packed and ready to go. You'll also need your waiver if you haven't already filled it out.

We have a scratch box development environment. Yay! The department gave it to us. Trever is installing Fedora 11 on it. Let him know if you want an account. It has android, irobot, imobile, other stuff.

We also have a nice table throw that should be in soon.

Trever is ordering the new hardware for the server. We'll have 1 TB of storage available for everyone to share soon.

Dr Liszka will be here at some point (possibly next week) to talk about Computer Science Education Week and other stuff.

Trever and Adam will be advertising linux again next week. They would like some hardware to demonstrate things on, so lend them your stuff if you can.

Trever demonstrated the irobot some more.

Kat's working on marketing for Child's Play. We have fliers almost finalized, and they should be printed very soon. There's a list of places to hang them in the wiki, but if you think of something else you can post it there. If anyone wants to help hang fliers, you can contact Kat or Melanie.

We had an idea in the irc to hold a geek auction next semester. We'll auction them off into paid slavery for geek services. They'll be setting things up, giving advice, etc. We're gonna try to do stuff that the zip support center won't do.

Let us know if you have other event ideas.

The department may be buying a cd label printer that we can use. Dr Chan is awesome. :-)

And Trever went off into the void to play with the robot some more...

imobile? Don't you mean 'maemo'?

Also, the printer purchase is confirmed.
