All students interested in the ACM Programming Competitions should meet in the CAS 254 Lab on Friday at 5:00PM.
Sorry for the late notice. Anyone showing up later than 5 will get caught up as appropriate.
Practices will continue weekly (alternating between short strategy practices and longer mini-competitions) through the Regional contest in Youngstown in October.

After the first week of class, and after the first 'suprise' homework assignment by Dr. Margush, I took a few minutes to write a program to send me a text message when Margush updates his Assembly Programming homework page. If anyone else is interested in receiving notifications for Assembly or another class, please contact me or display some sort of interest. If enough people are interested, the service can be integrated into the website.
The first official meeting of the Fall 2009 semester will be occuring Wednesday September 2nd at 4:00PM in CAS 254.
Be sure to bring your $6 member dues if you wish to join or continue membership. Immediately after/during the meeting, I will be going through the user database in drupal and updating who is and isn't a member. If you've paid for the fall semester by then, you're a member. If not, you're not.
Today in the Student Union outside room 308, come and visit the ACM! Drop on by and we'll tell you all about us, how to join, what we do, and more. After 3, we'll be roaming around campus handing out fliers and setting up laptops for UA's wireless internet.
With less than one week before the fall semester starts, its time we have our last summer meeting. This time, we'll talk about revising our budget due to ASG not letting us have money before week of welcome to fund our week of welcome, and when to have our weekly ACM meetings.
The ACM's second meeting went nicely with the exception of the ACM server trying to burn down the server closet. The IRC meeting was logged with PFY, a temporary bot created on my home server. Read on for the summary of what went on.

Upgrading the ACM server and repaying Adam's PSU contribution
Tomorrow, I'll be upgrading the ACM server from Ubuntu to Fedora 11. It should take a maximum of four hours to get the website back up and running. More than likely, it'll take only two. I've got quite a tight schedule, so I'm not sure when I can start the process. As a side note, the voting results appear to be leaning towards this coming Monday the 3rd.
